One of the beautiful gardens in Dresden

As early as 1910 there was an urban design competition, which provided for the design of the royal bank as a park and counterpart to the built-up Old Town Elbe side. City Planning Officer Hans Erlwein prevented a development of the Königsufer with these plans. The Königsufer is considered to be the most important urban planning and landscaping achievement in the 1930s.

The perennial garden was created in 1334/1935 as a special garden under the relevant planning of the then acting city garden director Heinrich Balke. He was like the neighboring rose garden part of the Reich Garden Show of 1936.
