One of the oldest and largest contiguous urban forests in Europe
Cycling and hiking trails, seating, lawns and playgrounds, it is an important recreational area. The trail network of Eilenriede consists of 80 km of hiking trails, 38 km of cycle paths and 11 km of riding trails. In addition, there are 50 wooden bridges that allow the crossing of ditches and waters. In the numerous forest clearings there are ten children's playgrounds and eight lawns that attract visitors from all over the city. Also worth mentioning are the many sports trails, toboggan hills, miniature golf courses and the lawn labyrinth. A variety of signposts will help you with your orientation.
