The oldest landscape garden in the Ruhr

The beauty of Bochum's city park is based above all on its extensive, varied terrain relief. This includes the harmonious transition from round crests to the narrow valley, at the bottom of the old city park pond was created. He completes with modeled slopes. Strollers can linger here and children will find next to the mini golf course an adventure playground in the countryside. A special attraction in summer is the large water playground. The milk house reopened in 2001 is popular as an ice cream café for both young and old.
For those interested in culture, the city park offers modern sculptures by Ales Vesely and a sculpture by Giuseppe Spagnulo at the park entrance. At the southwestern entrance are the remains of a large war memorial. It comes from the sculptor Becker. At the turn of the century, a high-class residential quarter has been built on the Stadtpark, which is not only important in terms of urban planning, but also historically and artistically. The city park and several villas are listed buildings. In the old building of the parking garage today is the gastronomy in the city park.
