About Park

  • Preview

Contains parts of the no longer existing peace grove with the memorial stone for the 25th anniversary of the return of the Frankfurt peace

In the middle is the Heine monument. Originally donated by Baroness Selma von der Heydt in 1893, the original monument was destroyed in 1933. In 1958, the Heine monument in its present form was renewed by the sculptor Harald Schmahl in Von-der-Heydt-Park. [1] It quotes the fourth section from the prologue (WikiSource) of the Book of Songs. At the two ends of the park are two churches: in the west the Catholic Church of St. Hedwig and in the east the Evangelical St. John's Church, an emergency church from the period after the Second World War.
