The second largest inner-city open space in Europe
The Schlossplatz is a square in the Westphalian Münster. It is located west of the city center, in front of the castle and is the venue of the three-times annual Sends, the winner's tournament and target area for Sparkassen Münsterland GIRO - the third largest cycling race in Germany with over 4,500 participants. From 1927 to 2012 he was called Hindenburgplatz, previously he was from 1759 the name Neuplatz. Schlossplatz has the second largest inner-city open space in Europe (after the Tempelhof Park in Berlin).
