An urban green area in the Westphalian city of Münster
The barracks of the Westphalian Train Battalion No. 7 were previously located on the grounds between 1860 and 1945. A conversion of the facility with subsequent commercial use followed, which lasted until the 1970s. The conversion into a green area took place in the years 1975 to 1979. The park itself has a small pond, a playground and numerous lawns. The heart of the South Park, however, is the large adventure village of the initiative center "ABI", which offers various offers for children and young people on the subject of "adventure-building-initiatives" as a leisure time activity.
