It is a green area in the Karlsruher district

Before that Karlsruhe stood first gas business. Today there is the Jakobus Theater, the Marotte-Puppet Theater and the Sandkorn Theater in the former gas industry's furnace house, the factory's current factory.

In order to create green areas and play in the densely built Weststad area, a local park was built there between 1985 and 1988 in accordance with the plans of the landscape architect in Karlsruhe Carl Bauer.

In 1987, the fountain set was installed with four wells. The larger fountain is alone and the three smaller wells are to the south. Here too a drinking water well was established in 1993.

    name of the place
The plant was named after the city of Nottingham English on Trent, since the city of Karlsruhe sister since 1969. The naming was on the 25th anniversary of twinning on 26 June 1994 in the presence of the mayor of Nottingham Lord Vernon Jaber and the mayor of Karlsruhe Gerhard Seiler.
