Now includes the Physical Astrological Cabinet and the Planetarium

The spacious Karlsaue Park is only a few steps away from the center of Kassel, inviting you to walk, exercise and discover 150 hectares.

Directly near the city center of Kassel
In addition to Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe, the Staatspark Karlsaue is the second large Kassel Park, run by the Museum of Hessen Kassels. The historic and oldest Kassel Park is between Rosenhang and Fulda, a wonderful outdoor oasis in the city center.

From about 1570 to 1680 a renaissance park was created in Voraue, today Hessenkampfbahn. It was the first botanical garden in Kassel.

Karlsaue was designed around 1700 as a symmetrical baroque garden with waterways and fan channels, and was redesigned to become an English-style landscape garden at the end of the 18th century. Baroque hubs are open and meaningful to visitors to this day. In parallel with the landscape design, Karl Landgriff (1654 to 1730), the group name, built the Orangiri Palace as a summer residence at the starting point of the baroque hubs in the park.

It now houses the Physical Astrological Cabinet and the Planetarium. Next to it stands the marble bathroom of the most modern and important representative bath complex in Germany from the late Baroque period.

Trail the planet - once the sky is back
Planet Trail has been manufacturing infantry in Karlsaue around the world since 1996. It is a type of "map of the universe" that reduces the distances and sizes of planets on a scale of 1: 495 million. Thus, the idea of vast distances and differences in the size of our visible planets from the Earth in relation to the sun becomes a reasonable experience.

The sun appears from afar above the glass entrance in the center of Orangerie. From here, astronauts pass on Mercury on the edge of Karlswiese, Venus, both the size of hazelnuts, then the earth, with almost nut dimensions. We continue along the Karlsaue axis, first to Mars, under the Oak Lane, to Jupiter, which is placed as a golden ball on the roof of the temple on Swan Island in Aueteich and on its banks. Finally, Saturn represents, already located outside Aue, and since 2002, Uranus remains, the end of the path.

At the southern end of the park, there is the island of Siebenbergen, also called "Flower Island" because of its change in spring flowers and flowering summer. The diversity of the plant is preserved and preserved in the garden as well as in the island of Siebenbergen.

During the charm of the autumn in Karlsaue around the flowering Siebenbergen island, the park is once a year in September Square for all fairy tales, beauty and practicality that evoke the charm of autumn in the home and garden.
