    A vibrant heart

Parco della Chiusa, popularly known as the Parco Talon, is a place of great beauty and environmental quality but is still unknown at all with its complexities, although many people from across the region have visited it for various reasons.

Since 2006, the area of 110 hectares of the park has been included in the SIC, the site of the importance of the community - SPA, special protection area called "Boschi di San Luca e del Reno" (IT4050029). Although close to the densely populated areas, it is actually located between Casalecchio di Reno, to the north, and SIC-ZPS Contrafforte Pliocenico IT4050012 to the south, opens from the east to the various hills of Bologna but is closed from the west by arteries A1 The highways include a wide range of natural environments that are still fully conserved, a model of the Lowlands of Bologna that hosts many rare and threatened plant and animal species. The number of habitats of community interest currently stands at eleven: five basins, three aquatic species and three forest species, covering a total of about a third of the surface of the site.

Since 2014, Parco della Chiusa is part of the natural and semi-natural landscape "Colline di San Luca" established under Regional Law 6/2005. The area covers an area of 5000 hectares and covers the municipalities of Bologna, Casalcio di Reno and Sasso Marconi. It includes the mountainous region extending south from the urban area of Bologna to the limits of the Plaussine reserve and is bordered to the east by the Savena course and to the west of the River Reno by the park of Gessi Bolognesi and Calanchi dell'Abbadessa Regional In a direct regional relationship, Monte Sole Regional Park, Pliocene Contrafforte Nature Reserve, thus becomes an important environmental corridor.
