home to a collection of sculptures

The Gardens of Popoli (Giardino di Popoli) is a park in Florence, Italy, home to a collection of 16th-18th century sculptures, with some Roman ruins.

Behind the Palazzo Pitti is the magnificent Boboli Gardens. Medici first took care of this arrangement, devising the model of the Italian garden, which has become an example of many European courts. The vast green surface, which is divided in a regular way, is a real open-air museum, inhabited by ancient statues and Renaissance, decorated with caves, first and foremost by Bernardo Buontalenti, and large fountains, such as the Neptune Museum and the Ocean. The subsequent Lorena and Savoy dynasties resulted in the enrichment of the temple, extending the boundaries that limit the walls of the old city to Porta Romana. The terraced area, where the Kaffeehaus wing of the 18th century is a spectacular visual proposal, is a rare example of Rococo architecture in Tuscany or Limonia, built by Zanobi del Rosso between 1777 and 1788. Pitti, an integral part of it, You can fully absorb the spirit of the court life and at the same time enjoy a garden experience that is always renewed with respect for its traditions.
