Tarnów railway plants, originally called princely, were founded in the 1860s as a greenery accompanying the brewery of the Sanguszków princes in the Strusina district.
In 1889, the City Board took over the planty. From then on, they were called urban or rail. A gardener was employed, walking paths were marked out, and the pond was filled with garbage from the city. However, eight years passed, and the plants were still in poor condition. At that time, at the request of the Pogoń weekly, the area was commissioned for the use of the "Holiday Corps", commanded by the outstanding sports activist Ignacy Przybyłkiewicz, who came from the Polish Gymnastic Society "Sokół".
