The city park was the first public park in Vienna
The city park contains most of the monuments and statues in all of Vienna's parks. The most famous is the Strauss memorial. This bronze statue of Ibn Johan Strauss with a marble engraving of Edmund Helmer was revealed in 1921. Gilding was removed in 1935, but re-applied in 1991.
