Botanical Garden of the University of Hamburg

The area takes the visitor on different continents: Asia, America (the flora is divided into North and South America) and the European forest can be found on the grounds. In the old botanical garden in the park Planten un Blomen tropical greenhouses can be found.

The foundation dates back to 1919 - the garden belongs to the University of Hamburg. On the site are research facilities, a glass pyramid and the cube-like Loki Schmidt house. In front of the entrance to the outdoor area in 1982, the bronze sculpture "Adam looting his paradise" by Waldemar Otto was set up. The same sculptor also created a monument to the poet Matthias Claudius in Wandsbek.
