Huge green area in the west of Koln
The Cologne city forest is one of the largest contiguous green spaces in the city. Recreation seekers, families and athletes find their niches on the extensive terrain between Stadtwaldgürtel and Müngersdorf, without - as in many of the smaller parks in Cologne - stepping on their feet.
Created in 1895 and extended beyond the military ring in the 1920s, is impressive. Even more impressive, however, is what this park has to offer: In addition to numerous widely branched paths that invite you to walk, cycle and jog, there is namely a large zoo, which is especially interesting for children.
