It is one of the largest public parks of the Alps

A touch of the Mediterranean can be found with palm trees, fig trees, lemon trees and Mediterranean plants on the main northern banks, between the Peace Bridge and the Untermin Bridge. Thanks to the southern exposure and the shadows of the pavement walls and the reflected sunlight from the river, exotic plants can thrive in Nice in a Mediterranean climate. Location 4.42 hectares is one of the largest southern public parks to the north of the Alps. Today's selection of plants does not make the winter in the oranges necessary, because the types of frostresistente have been chosen here, which can remain warm packed up in the cold season at the site. Latifa continues the fences on her western arm to the banks of Maine.

Originally located in the Green Zone location today from Main Main with Main Main Island. Only the development of the railway line on the shore between the west and the eastern port led to the creation of a park. The city's gardener Sebastian Rains (1782-1861) recalls that the main arm, which was filled in 1858, did not become a storage area for building materials. According to him, the walls, the first public green areas in Frankfurt, would end here in a small park on the river. His ideas can not be put into practice at first. But as early as 1832, "Mainlust" opened a bar for entertainment, where the magnificent garden terrace, lined with plane trees, was one of the most visited attractions in Frankfurt.

The park was named Nizza only since it was redesigned in 1875 by the grandson of Sebastian Raines, Andreas Weber (1832-1901). A picture of the park manager can be seen in the sidewalk wall. First brought exotic plants to Maine, which winter in a glass house. In addition, the double-trip staircase and the Grindbrunnenpavillon instead of the Nice Cafe today and the cut-off aircraft that have been preserved to this day are typical of Main.

Nizza was redesigned twice, around 1930 and around 1950, until it was restored in 2000 by the Green Space Office and supplied with the concept of Mediterranean vegetation by Rainer Giselle Schulte.
