A green area with many sports facilities

From 1937, the German Action Front built the Hoeschpark on the lands of White Mido in the Sportpark Duisburg. Mainly served for the recreation of industrial workers and the green lung of the area. Hoeschpark was opened in the 1941 war years.

The center is currently a runway, which leads around a grass court, and the Stockheide pool with hot outdoor water, also called Hoeschbad, which was run with the heat of the mill. In addition, there is a tennis court, other sports courts, children's playgrounds and restaurants that complement the show.

After the takeover of the Hoesch Group by Thyssen Krupp Stahl AG, the Hoeschpark site and the external Stockheide pool were moved to Dortmund in May 2004 for 2 million euros. Current facilities management is handled by Sport World Dortmund gGmbH.

After the start of the refurbishment of the old sports facilities, a multi-functional stadium was opened in May 2006 in the inner circle of the former track, which aims to provide a home for Al Qaeda and softball teams at Dortmund Wanderers. In early 2007, the football stadium was completed with a scout system, so that the stadium now conforms to international standards. On June 20, 2007, a friendly between Australia and Germany took place.

In the immediate vicinity, the Little Athletics Stadium was built with four circular paths as well as facilities for jumping and throwing. Above all, LG Olympia Dortmund athletes are trained there. Moreover, there are two types of ash with floodlights and a small playground.

Hoeschpark is listed as a monument in the Dortmund Archaeological Museum.
