About Park

  • Preview

    It has many playgrounds

The Nordstadt Program, approved in 1985, and the subsequent promotion of urban renewal measures led to intensive public participation and the development of a comprehensive concept, which includes the redesign of the existing sections as well as sustainable green communication.

With the installation of Blücherpark today in several stages of construction between 1995 and 2001 can be created through the integration of partial areas and the inclusion of a former crossroads of important green link from the western city across Nordstadt, which is heavily built up to Fredenbaumpark.

Blücherpark, which houses many playgrounds and tranquil living areas, continues to function as a green area close to the surrounding neighborhoods. The multi-part steel statue, designed and developed by the sculptor and sculptor Jean Bormann of Castrop Roxel, is a reference point and reminds us - near the harbor - of the temporary steel site (Dortmund).
