One of the most beautiful and interesting parks in Dusseldorf

The design with gentle valleys, slight elevations and large plains is due to the former course of the Itter from Benrath Holthausen through the Elbroich Park with a moated castle to Itter. But only through the sensible selection and arrangement of the trees the park unfolds its impressive beauty. The trees set impressive focal points in the park, allowing new, surprising views and making the park look bigger than it really is.

The tree population is divided into three areas:

The species-rich individual trees on the extensive lawn and meadow areas.
Three tree avenues an old linden tree alley leading from the north into the park to the castle,
a young lime tree avenue connecting the beech with the pine forest on the north-south embankment,
an old tree of life tree, which leads the park visitors from east to west to the elevated chestnut place.
Four forest plots that protect the park

in the northwest with beech trees,
    in the southwest with pines,
in the southeast and east with mock acacia, poplars, lime trees,
in the northeast and north with oaks, hornbeams, ash trees.
Altogether there are about 40 different tree species in Elbroichpark. They were planted at the turn of the century by the industrialist Heye
