The first public park in Brussels
The park of Brussels, formerly called "Royal Park" was the first public park of Brussels. It is located between the Federal Parliament and the Royal Palace. It offers wide aisles, symmetrical alignments and surprising perspectives.
There are green cabinets, a music kiosk, a theater, two fountains and some catering utensils.
The park of Brussels exudes serenity, however, it lived the violent fights of the inhabitants of Brussels who made their revolution in 1830.
In the seventies of the 18th century, the whole district of the Court is transformed. The architect Guimard draws the plan of the new park. He is assisted by the gardener Zinner, who has been wrongly attributed the role of Guimard.
