    Historic landmark in Dresden

The castle Albrechtsberg was built from 1850 to 1854 for Prince Albrecht of Prussia by Prussian master builder Adolf Lohse, a student of Schinkel in late-Classicist style. The surrounding park was built according to a design by Eduard Neide, the execution was directed by court gardener Hermann Sigismund Neumann. The design of the Elbe slope is inspired by the Italian Renaissance and very effective through its terraces. The large terrace is 127 m long and 12 m high. Large viaducts, a serpentine road, pillared halls and water features were created.

The park, which has been reconstructed under monument preservation aspects since 1990, has a valuable stock of trees.
