The green lung of the city

Composed of many trails and woods, the park of the fort remains today the privileged place for family walks. Public domain, the wood shelters a big variety of vegetable species. A place conducive to relaxation, stroll or leisure, which offers:

    A course of health
    Playgrounds and picnic areas
    A BMX track
A climbing wall which, when it was built in 1978, was the tallest in France outside

Natural space dedicated to the leisures, the park of the Fort offers about fifteen hectares wooded and about twenty hectares of natural meadows. The wooded part of the park is home to many species of trees such as black locust, wild cherry or ash, maples, oaks, lime trees ...

Around the pond, various hedgerows alternate with natural meadows and provide shelter for many animal species. Tits, goldfinches, finches and woodpeckers, but also rabbits or hedgehogs are many to have elected home or to use hiding during their migration.

Observatory of fauna and flora in the heart of the city, the Fort Park benefits from the attentive care of municipal gardeners. A privileged site where sportsmen and walkers are invited to take a breath of fresh air.
