About Park

  • Preview

The Siegerpark is a small park on the Sloterweg in the Riekerpolder in Amsterdam-Nieuw-West.

It was created on the initiative of Dr. Wilhelm Sieger, director of the Amsterdam Chininefabriek (ACF) and member of the Amsterdam Association for the Promotion of Beekeeping (AVVB). In the 1920s he bought a piece of land of approximately 6 hectares on Sloterweg. He had this designed by landscape architect Jan Bosma to design this as a secondary garden in the English landscape style, with many exotic trees. The Siegerpark was opened in 1936. Part of the land then became the ("old") Bee Park.
