About Park

It was built on a former stronghold

The north of Geschwister-Scholl-Park is located in Walther-Rathenau-Strasse, just north of the city center, near the Otto von Guericke campus.

The factory was built in 1895 as part of a gardener's gallery designed by the park manager of the Magdeburg city of Johann Gottlieb Schöch, who also designed the park on Furstenwal.

Like many parks in the city center. Originally the park was called Queen Louise, popularly known as Louisengarten and only in 1951 got his current name.

The park was surprised by the wonderful terrain movement with a valley no less than 9 meters deep. Have been severely neglected in recent decades, but have come into force again since the 1990-1994 overhaul.
